Total Focus™ Elemental Antioxidant Formula is a pharmaceutical grade multiple vitamin and mineral with therapeutic potencies for eye health nutrition.  Total Focus™ has a balance of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that have been clinically proven to help maintain healthy eyes and healthy people. This supplement contains essential vitamins and minerals recognized by the National Institute of Health, National Eye Institute, and leading nutrition experts worldwide.

HEALTHY PEOPLE know that dietary supplements can significantly improve their health and their feeling of well-being.  In the United States there are 35 million people over 65 years of age; 40% of these older Americans suffer from nutritional deficiencies.  Conditions such as Alzheimer's, decline in memory, decreased immunity to illness, reduced awareness and lack of energy were once viewed as normal signs of aging.  Today these changes have been linked to deficiencies in vitamins and minerals.

Total Focus™ is an elemental antioxidant formula.  The therapeutic dosage levels of antioxidants such as Vitamin C, FloraGlo® Lutein, Zeaxanthin, Lycopene and Alpha Lipoic Acid work synergistically to nourish the body.  Studies indicate this may reduce the risk or slow down the progression of eye disease as well as other bodily ailments.

Lutein is a carotenoid, meaning a natural colorant or pigment, found in dark green leafy vegetables, various fruits and egg yolks.  Luetin filters the high-energy, blue wavelengths of light from the visible-light spectrum. Blue light, in both indoor lighting and sunlight, is believed to induce oxidative stress and possible free-radical damage in human organs exposed to light.  The macula, the part of the eye responsible for central vision, is especially vulnerable to blue light.  Blue light is not the same as the commonly known ultraviolet A and ultraviolet B wavelengths of the invisible spectrum.

Most Americans do not get enough lutein in their diets. Research has suggested a minimum of 6 milligrams of lutein per day is necessary to maintain healthy eyes and higher dosage levels to realize its additional health benefits.

Lycopene, another carotenoid found in tomatoes, may reduce the risk of macular degenerative disease and cancers of the prostate, lungs, bladder, cervix and skin. Recent studies indicate that a diverse range of dietary carotenoids, including lycopene are found in ocular tissues and may work in unison with lutein and zeaxanthin to provide protection against macular degeneration and other visual disorders.

Alpha-Lipoic Acid (ALA) is another powerful antioxidant.   A study released by Mayo Clinic found that ALA significantly and rapidly reduces the frequency and severity of symptoms of the most common kind of diabetic neuropathy.  ALA also helps protect the lens and retina of the eye from degeneration.

Preventive therapy to maintain good health must include a healthy lifestyle consisting of a proper diet, exercise, well check ups and a daily vitamin regimen of quality multiple vitamin and mineral supplements. Ask your eye doctor about the Total Focus™ family of vitamins for your eye health care.
